Hello All! I am just shy of one year post opp and loving life! I was just wondering what everyone’s tolerance is for watermelon?! It seems to be hit and miss for me, and I always have burps! It’s a weird mixture of water and solid that makes me burp like hell, and for about 20-30 minutes after I feel bloated! Only after one piece! Lol

Does anyone else have this issue?

No, but was told pre-op by nut that many people have a hard time with watermelon post op. Awful thought because I LOVE watermelon!!  I've had small amounts and was fine!

Watermelon was the first food to make me sick (I thought it was dumping).  I didn't throw up or anything but it made me feel really weird and sick.  So I never had it again :(

There are 21 grams of carbs in 1 serving of watermelon. It's nothing but sugar. That's why you are getting sick

I agree. Some fruits may be healthy but too much of the wrong kind and the sugars will work you over - also make you gain weight!  My daughter makes smoothies with two banana's, honey, yogurt, apples, berries, oatmeal and other things, yet wonders why she is gaining weight when supposedly eating so healthy? Too much sugar and calories I tell her!

Once I eat my protein I don't have room for fruits.  The carb count for watermelon exceeds my daily limit.

Watermelon is the only food that my stomach can't hold as much of as my mouth wants to eat. (*grin*)
