I struggled with severe depression post-op for approximately 4 months. It was the lowest time in my life. Sometimes I wished I could go back to being overweight because I wasn't mentally prepared for all the attention my weight loss was giving me. I also hated the excess skin I had all over my body. I had a hard time getting undressed in front of the mirror and/or my husband. I opted not to go on medication and started seeing a therapist instead. It definitely helped!
