You're right.  Saying to pour it out was flippant on my part, not knowing the OP's cir****tances.

Definitely something to avoid buying in the future!

It's not just chocolate milk. It's labeled as a Protein drink with 25g of protein and it cost me $2.49 for a small container. I thought I was getting something good. It sure tasted good but had WAY to MUCH sugar for me. My son enjoyed it.

I have a hard time with protein drinks, too... finding one that isn't yucky. I use Myofusion Advanced Protein by Gaspari but I think they have gone out of business. You can still find the protein powder, though, online. It does have like 2-3 grams of sugar in it so it is not perfect but it is the only one I can stomach right now. My son turned me onto it years ago because he was using it after working out. He's not a "body builder" per say but stays very fit.  I am so glad of this... passing on my obesity would have sucked big time. I will say, though, that he does have to work on it... he watches what he eats and works out regularly. I think he has seen my struggles and has learned so that is a good thing. Hopefully, your children will learn from your example, too.

Hope you find a protein supplement that works for you. I know it is hard for me to get all of my protein from food because I still can't eat quantity.

Heads up, also, Isopure drinks (supposed to be protein water type drinks) are AWFUL!! At least to me. I can't even do those in small sips!

I did a search on Myofusion protein drinks and they have them on Amazon. I will give them a try. I like to have a protein shake in the mornings, even though my nutritionist says I'm not supposed to anymore.

Another tip, there is a blog by Bariatric Foodie, that has lots of ways to dress up a protein drink. She also has a Protein Drink cookbook that I purchased on Amazon... there are some great ideas and she has the nutritional values spelled out. I had to lose weight before my surgery and I honestly don't think I could have done it without her book.

Also, Eggface, has a blog... The World According to Eggface... that has wonderful recipes and ideas. She is a great inspiration to me because I love to cook and she has great ideas that she has created. She also understands the struggles.

Last tip (I promise)....if you haven't joined in on the "Whatcha Eating Today" topic on the RNY forums, do join us. Lots of RNY post ops post what they are eating that day and it is so good to see what others are eating to get ideas what to eat food wise. Also, the posters are so great with other ideas of exercise and what not.
