Yup.  Its a body building diet.  1 large potato each meal and 1 large glass of skim milk each meal.  Nothing else.  You have to eat the skin.

Oh yes, I tried this.  And Kathy my list of diets is two and a half pages, single spaced.  (No duplicates either!)

My father in law is the king of the crazy fad diets. He is in mourning because I won't be joining him on any if these any more. Poor guy!

I remember this! My mom did it back when I was a kid. In fact, I think she tried every fad diet known to mankind -- she's been a yoyo dieter my whole life, and after my own third 80 lb. yoyo before age 30, I knew it was time for the "nuclear option" so to speak.

Everyone always seems to conveniently forget the "balanced" part of "balanced diet."

I had a co-worker who did the grapefruit diet and it worked wonders for him.  He is still lean, but works out hard and watches what he eats.

Another guy I worked with did a tuna fish diet, one can of tuna fish for each meal and nothing else.  He ran five miles a day and dropped his weight very quickly too.  After a few months, he looked fabulous.  He divorced his wife and moved to Las Vegas.  I wonder if he is fat again now.

My fad diets would all end after about three days.

My mother did the grapefruit one, often. It was one of the 1st ones she tried to get me to do when I was still quiet young (10) I think. She didn't have me try do the actual diet, just figured since it sounded so fat busting and the real diet helped her (for short periods od time, VERY short) she encouraged me to try to drink the grapefruit juice. I could not do it, that stuff made me SO sick. I STILL cannot stand to even smell a grapefruit now. All from trying to drink that bitter, yuck stuff just because it "might" help give me energy to enable me to play outside (back in the 70s us kids were still able to PLAY OUTSIDE. So I was one of the weird FAT kids at that time.  Way too many of those crap ones were tried my be (and most everyone at sometime or another before finding the real solution) I cannot even remember half of them.
