I had a lot of trouble swallowing pills for the first three months.  Now, 5 mos out, I swallow them fine. I just cannot swallow a bunch at once.

I had no problem swallowing pills unt day 14  the day I was discharged. Now they get stuck in my throat half way down and I can't seem to swallow them until I drink a bunch of water. Any idea why this is??

I had a similar experience, and I don't know why either. I bought a pill cutter, and I cut them into smaller pieces, which I can swallow easily. I also use chewable multivitamins and calcium. I am hoping it gets better eventually.

I don't know.  I think we have swelling from the surgery.  Also, I think there are strictures that "ebb and flow" early in the recovery process.  Not necessarily real strictures, just physical things from the healing/adaptation that cause some restriction.  I really did feel like I had an increase in restriction after 2-4 weeks.  Then it gradually subsided.

I was swallowing pills before I left the hospital. Some pills go down easier than others, and it doesn't seem to have to do with the size. I can swallow two huge calcium pills AND a huge multi in one go, but I have a tiny little pill I take that gets stuck in the back of throat about half the time!

I started back taking pills one week after surgery.  No problems.
