Surgery cancelled?

Has anyone ever went to have their surgery and when they got in they couldnt do the procedure for some reason? I'm self pay going to Ariel Ortiz in Mexico. I Know they don't do all the preop testing like they do in the U.S. so I'm scared of going down there and theM finding something wrong and not being able to do it. I asked the coordinator and she said it's unlikely but I'm curious if it has happened to anyone.
I would ask here you may get a better response. http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/mexico/
This was one of the biggest fears I had before my surgery, and I didn't have to travel for mine. I just kept thinking that something would come up the day before during pre-op and my surgery would be canceled. Sorry I can't help you, but letting you know I get the fear...Good luck.

I also did mine in Mexico, and they asked for all my medical history and did all my pre ops, EKG, X-rays, I had no complications, they took great care of me, even took care of my brother who came along, even though I paid cash, I know they help you with financial aid, and the fee they offer include everything, I only paid extra for tips, food and I think that was it. If you need more info feel free to ask.

Thank you for your replies! I think it would put my mind at ease if I had an upper endoscopy to make sure everything is good. I take a lot of NSAIDS I'm affraid I'll have an ulcer or something. I've heard nothing but good things from people who went to reputable surgeons in Mexico so I just need to suck it up and hope for the best.
