Sitting is painful!
on 5/17/15 3:16 pm
I have lost 70 pounds in almost 7 months and it is incredibly painful to sit for 15 minutes or longer. (My entire butt is tender). The more weight I lose, the worse it gets. I have done my research and found that this is common with people who lose a good amount of weight. (I work full time at a desk and even when I stand up for relief, the pain returns as soon as I sit down again). Most have had success using a ****yx cushion, which I am going to purchase. Can anyone tell me if this pain eventually goes away? Is there an exercise that will help? Also, there are so many brands and models of ****yx cushions out there. Can anyone recommend a good one? (I don’t mind spending the money if it works and if there is a chance this is a permanent condition). Thanks! (Sorry for all the questions. This would normally be funny to me if it wasn’t so painful!)
I'm curious to see what responses you get also. My tailbone gets extremely sore, and I'm finding that I'm sitting in weird positions to try and avoid pressure on it. Of course, then I get knots in my back, so that's not so good. I want to get a ****yx cushion as well.

150 lost and maintaining!
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0087GQFVC/ -- this is the one I got at the recommendation of many here.
Things that help me are making sure to move as often as I can, and doing a lot of yoga and other movement. It has gotten better with time, but about 2 hours is my limit for sitting without movement these days.

I feel better just looking at it! I admit, I haven't been exercising as much as I should. Going to start back up tomorrow. Thanks for your wonderful wisdom! You are always so helpful to all! Thanks again!
You're welcome! I mainly use mine when driving and then if I'm going to movie theaters that aren't the comfy local one (which has reclining chairs). I no longer feel like a dope carrying it into the theater with me!

It goes! After months! If buyng a cushion, don't get a doughnut shaped one with a hole in the middle, get one which slopes slightly and has a wedge cut out of the back.
Not suggesting This particular one - this is a cheap UK one, not the one I got, just the first image I found to show the shape. I carried one like this all around the Middle East with me and couldn't have managed without it while doing a lot of travelling.

Thank you so much for replying! I am thrilled to hear that this will eventually go away! If I can get moving and get a cushion to see me through, I think I can wait it out. Thank you for making me feel so much better!
I have to admit mine was not just weight loss. It had started to hurt as the fat went but then trying cross country ski-ing for the first time aged 62 didn't help! I sat down abruptly and unintentionally rather a lot!
