Alcohol Consumption
So I tried booze for the second time the other weekend and I could drink 5 vodka and waters and one tequila mixed drink. It didn't really affect me at all. I was told by people in my support group that one glass of wine is their limit. Is this type of tolerance normal? I am not a big drinker, the last time I drank was back in November. The girls in my support group said it could have been watered down bar booze . . thoughts?
My question would be why? Why would you want to drink that much and take in those empty calories? If you wanted to see if you could, you have your answer. I am not being snarky, but now ask yourself, why? Be careful as we have a high percentage of transfer addiction. Do a search on our site and you will see what others have posted.
Good Luck

If you check the thread you posted on the RNY board, you will see that people are generally more concerned with the fact you thought it a good idea, just a couple of months after surgery, to test this!

Frankly, that's a lot of booze for any female in one sitting, regardless if she's had WL surgery or not. But for someone who has had the surgery, it's one of the worst decisions I've seen admitted to on these boards. Congrats for taking the cake on that one - and yes I'm being sarcastic!
I think the second worst decision anyone ever admitted to was eating Taco Bell at 2 days post-op.
You're right - it wasn't a great idea to try that much alcohol out in public before testing it at home. But the fact that she drank that much and didn't feel any effect...that speaks to a very high tolerance level that was already well-established before WLS. Or big potential trouble for the future....because if you can't feel the effect what's to keep a person from drinking more and more, right?
