Respect for yourself

Dear readers, as a former overweight guy and a good friend of a man who underwent bariatric surgery, I have learned some things. 1) No matter how you spin it, being obese/morbidly obese is unhealthy and unsightly.Excess fat distorts the body and bad things begin to happen.2)It's a matter of self respect and discipline, period.

As a former fat person myself...with friends of all shapes and sizes.

Fat or thin I always respected myself.

not sure what your point is.

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

Hey, look. It's Captain Obvious. You're on an Obesity Help support site. Do you think you're sharing some information no one has ever heard before?

It's pretty simplistic of a mindset to say it's a matter of "self respect and discipline, period." Doctors, who know a lot more than you do about obesity, would beg to differ with you.

I would venture a guess that you haven't learned as much as you think you have. People who think they're somehow "above" others usually end up falling pretty hard.
