I'm always burping since surgery. I mean, I burp A LOT and all the time. Is this common?

It's my cue that I'm full.

I do too. The hiccups and burping signal me that I have eaten too fast and/or too much.

Carpe Diem!

I thought about what you both said and wondered if I was eating too fast or too much to cause me to burping as often as I do. First thing this morning I took a swallow of water to take my medication, which is just one pill for my thyroid, and immediately burped after the sip of water. Again after each sip of my morning tea. I guess I'm getting air in my stomach when I drink anything, which could be causing me to burp.

I burped a lot too and found out that I was a big mouth breather that swalloed tons of air every time I took a sip or bite of food.  So I consciously would blow out through my nose while I le****er slide in or took a bite.  If helped a lot!

I burp a lot too. Sip of water. Vitamins. Meals. I try to eat really slow and I take small sips, but it doesn't matter. I just figure it is what it is. I'm hoping it gets better as I heal (only 12 days out right now)

Right after surgery I burped also for a few weeks. I didn't pass any gas in the beginning. Just burping. But by the time I was a month out it was gone. Not saying I never burp, but not like I was in the beginning.

I actually messaged my nutritionist about this today. She said it's very normal after surgery and should improve each week. So YAY!
