Knee damage (Good and bad news)

I had bilateral total knee replacements in 2/06. Prior I had lost about 100 pounds.

Fast forward to 2011, I regained that weight and more. I was really unable to walk too well due to the weight, not the new knees!

I hadVSG in 10/11. As of now I lost 200 pounds and feel like I have a new me! The weight loss did take stress off of the replaced knees. I am a lot more mobile now that there is less to carry around!

Weight loss may well extend the life of your knees . It definitely will give you more mobility and ease the pain .

I think the bottom line is losing the weight delays the knee replacement surgery but does not prevent it  Good Luck!
