Probably one of the best Birthdays I've had in a very long time....
I had my birthday today (May the 4th Be With You!). I turned 46.
Did I go out and celebrate? No.
Did I eat some birthday cake? No.
Did I open presents...Well, yesterday my brother got me a NutriBullet. (Yay!)
So... if I didn't do any of these things, what the heck did I do?
I stepped on a scale.... and it said 299.6.
When I finally got to a doctor in July, I weighed 335. When I had my initial consult with my surgeon on Feb.24th, I weighed 327.8. He told me he wanted me to lose 19 pounds. That would set me at 308. The more I thought about it, the more I realized I needed to lose an additional 9 pounds prior to surgery so that when I lost 100 pounds, I would also be in Onederland. I'd celebrate 2 important accomplishments in one fell swoop. And so I set about to lose at least 28.5 pounds by my surgery date.
And I hit my goal on my birthday....
And I still have a week to go... Next Monday is when my life changes for the better.
I may not have had a "normal" birthday, but this is probably one of the best ones I've ever had...
Because I have hope... and I haven't had that in a very, very long time. And I will never let anyone take it from me ever again...
Highest Weight: 340 (7/2/14) Initial Consult: 327.8 (2/24/15) Home Weigh In on Surgery Date: 291.8 (5/11/15) Today's Weight: 187.4 (5/20/16) Total So Far: 152.6 Pounds!!!!!!
"There's only us. There's only this... forget regret. Or life is yours to miss. No other road. No other way. No day but today."
Happy birthday! Maybe this is your New normal... Celebrating your birthday with happiness and health! Regardless, you're well on your way. Good luck in this last week before surgery. See you on the losers bench!

Happy (belated) birthday and congratulations on breaking into the 200's!! I think it's great that you didn't need the typical fanfare and food to celebrate the day you were born. It's time for new traditions to celebrate actually LIVING this fantastic new life.
Here's to hope and a successful surgery!
Happy birthday! We share the date. I am a May the 4th baby also. Congrats on your achievement and keep on going! Next year we'll check in and see where we both are! I am hoping to be right where I am now - no change! And hope you will have a huge change by our next birthday!!!! Wish you the best for the surgery and speedy recovery.
