Slightly Embarrassing Question...
Ok---Surgery in Monday at 730am! YAY!!
And at the moment I am slightly constipated... *sigh* I get this way during my period... no matter what I eat... tomorrow starts my liquid diet (per surgeon's orders)... but... atm... i'm still constipated even with 90 oz of water... :(
Can I take a Dulcalax? It's not harsh... and works overnight. I know not to take any aspirin type, or vitamins... but i'm just wondering if it's ok to take something like this???

Call your surgeon and tell him what's going on. He will be able to prescribe you a magnesium citrate drink that will clean you out before surgery.

My surgeon actually required us to do the magnesium citrate before surgery to clean us out. You can get it over the counter. Its like 99 cents at Walmart. Just don't make any plans for several hours after you drink it. She has us do it 48 hours before to make sure its effects have finished before surgery.
