Protein Drinks... What can I do?
I am on day 4 of my 10 day pre op diet. I have been drinking Isopure for breakfast. I am not able to drink anything that resembles a milk product. I go into automatic gag and purge on all diary products. Is there some other beverage that I could drink other than Isopure? This stuff is nasty and expensive.
This obviously depends on your doctor's instructions but post-op (I didn't have a pre-op diet), I chose, with my doctor's blessing, to go the natural route! I made my own drinks by making a basic soup mix and adding in chick peas /soya beans/ lentils for protein. I thin blended them to the correct consistency.
The protein content is lower than a typical protein drink so I needed to actually drink a bit more. But it was easy to get enough
Highest 290, Banded - 248 Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.
Happily banded since May 2006. Regain of 28lbs 2013-14. ALL GONE!
But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,
Try the Syntrax Nectars; most of those can be mixed with plain water. I've only seen the product online, so I don't know if it's available at a brick-and-mortar store. I like their Cappuccino and Lemon Tea flavors, but there are also eleven other flavors.
I know that Isopure does a Low or No carb variety (Chocolate or vanilla, other flavors may be available) at my local GNC store. You might find something there.
I drink GENEPRO. It is oderless and tasteless. I mix it with Crystal Light and sip on it all day. I get my water and protein in at the same time. It can be mixed with hot or cold....so you can mix it with anything. I order it from Amazon.
