Is this an ok thing to eat at a party? Its pretty much just chicken and cheese and hot sauce? I know you have to be careful with the chips. Go a Triscuit route or just eat the dip by itself. Thoughts?

Not good choices being you are just over a month out...

Post this on the Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass Surgery Forum (RNY) to get some ideas for party items to eat at this time. You want to concentrate on dense proteins, protein drinks, it depends on how you have been with your eating.

Check out EggFace's website for great recipes and food ideas a month out.

There are a LOT of different recipes for dip, I don't think it's safe to assume you'll know what the ingredients will be. Could be sour cream, butter, bacon, and basically be a calorie bomb. OR it could be a bit lighter. No good way to tell.

Pretty much any carb-- be it chips, Triscuits, or otherwise-- is best saved until maintenance, if at all.

Maybe make your own to be safe? Chicken, hot sauce, fatfree cream cheese/ fat free blue cheese dressing, with Celery insead of chips or crackers.
