Hi,

I just had the sleeve done a little over a week ago. It's all so new and strange. I'm working on water drinking and trying to figure out when I'm hungry.

Do you eat at scheduled times or when hungry?

Thanks

Don't rely on your new sleeve to tell you when you're hungry.  The nerves have been severed and you won't have a sense of fullness for a few more weeks.  If you think you're feeling hungry, it's more likely acid production in your new sleeve.  Are you taking a PPI (acid inhibitor)?  Even now at 16 months post surgery I don't really feel physically hunger.  A lot of head hunger, yes, but not physically hungry.

It's best to eat at scheduled times right after surgery.  Make sure that you get in all your water since you could end up in the ER for dehydration if you don't.

For me hunger never came back, so I eat a scheduled times.

I find myself feeling hungry a lot, so I eat at scheduled times so I know I have to wait x amount of time to eat.  I generally eat five times a day.

Thanks! I started scheduling my meals this morning. Just had lunch a little bit ago. I actually feel better than I did when I thought I may be hungry.
