8 Weeks Post Op Update
hi, friends!!
Just a quick update, 8 weeks post op.
I am down 40lbs. 30lbs since surgery.
Measurements:
Hips: down 6 inches
Waist: down 3 inches
I am feeling pretty good. I am down 2 sizes in jeans and am noticing slight changes in the way my clothes fit.
I have had zero complications since surgery and have never once felt sick or even nauseous. I really have felt great.
The only thing that I have struggled with is water intake, partially because I am neglecting to remember to sip all day. I am working on improving this.
What I'm eating: mostly fish, eggs and veggie burgers. As someone who doesn't enjoy cooking, I certainly struggle with creativity with my food.
Exercise: meh. Not as much as I could/should. I just got back from vacation in LA, where we had to walk everywhere, so that was helpful to get in some motion. I also did an awesome hike in Malibu. Since I have returned, I have made an effort to walk my dog. I need to step it up and read burn some fat. That is my focus for this week.
I am thinking about my rate of loss vs others' at 8 weeks out. Everyone is different, but tell me where you were at 8 weeks out! I am VSG, by the way.

It sounds like you are doing great! I was 8 weeks out yesterday. I feel like I could have written your post! I have had zero complications. I can eat what I have tried easily. I just stay at the two oz mark. I do struggle sometimes getting enough water. But that is me getting busy and not thinking about it. Overall, I have lost 58 pounds, 15 Preop and 43 after.
Can you imagine where we will be in 8 more weeks?!

I was down 45 lbs at two months post surgery. Congrats on your success to date
Exercise is great, but it's not going to make a major impact in your weight loss. Incorporating exercise into your new lifestyle is to improve your cardiovascular system, strengthen muscles and prevent lean muscle mass loss.
Keep up the great work!

Hey I'm 9weeks post op today!! I think me and you had surgery around the same time but as for me I'm about 39lbs down been having a major stall I freaked out at first but the kind folks on here told me to calm down! I lost around 36lbs at the 5weeks mark, but I've only lost 3lbs since March 27th talk about a stall! I'll weigh myself again on the 24th hopefully I've lost more.
But 30-40lbs seems to be the general range of lbs lost for people two months out I'm almost 100lbs down (mostly pre op)since October but I was over 400 I'm feeling great!
I have had 0 complications as well, haven't had any problems tolerating food! I would be nauseated all day everyday, wasn't anything I couldn't deal with but it went away as of last week. I'm pretty good with getting my water In and I just started the gym two weeks ago I go 3-4x's a week! My hair started falling out two weeks ago I'm bummed about that but hey it's inevitable and it will grow back.
Anyhow seems like your doing just fine keep it up and keep us updated!!
