Flinstones VS the Fancy Schmancy Vitamins

I should cease to be shocked by people *****ly on others telling them what to do rather than educating themselves.   Relying on so called professionals to monitor our vitamin/mineral levels is a recipe for disaster - as we have seen so often.

southernlady I am so glad to read that you do not require B12 supplementation.  I thought I was the only one.  6 years out and have never needed extra B12...I get my labs done every 6 months and still so far so good.

You are correct b12 is the one we don't absorb and we do need a sublingual.

I think most Sleeved stomachs do fine with the B vites. All I take is what's in my multi, and my B12 tends to run high.

The Bariatric Advantage Reps came to our last support group. I asked him that question about B-12 and did it really work if it wasn't sublingual.... the two of them kept doing quite a verbal dance to try and not answer the question, it was painful to watch...

Flintstones are for children.  Doctors *****commend them shouldn't be allowedc to cut.

You are investing in the surgery, invest in the proper supplimentation.

My surgeon does not allow the Flintstone vitamins, instead he recommends OptiSource - I find them at Walgreens. 4 a day covers all of the recommended daily vitamins.

Well, I'm assuming that all surgeons provide different requirements from what I read. However, I haven't had any deficiencies while taking them, so they apparently work well enough for me. Of course, I adhere to a strict diet so if there happens to be any vitamins I am missing from taking them, I'm sure I get through the nutrients I take in.
