Calcium Citrate with d3
I will be post op Rny on the 18th.i am down 61lbs. I'm having a hard time finding calcium citrate I can tolerate. Hospital sent home samples from bariatric advantage and I simply cannot handle the taste. I don't want to be this picky. I'm just having a hard time with nausea and my proteins still. I'd love to have some feedback on which calcium you're able to tolerate. Since it's life long. Thank you in advance!
I like the Celebrate 500 Plus chewables. I also keep Citrical Petites in the car to make sure I keep up. The Petites are tablets, not chewable. Some people can't handle chewables, so the tablets might go down better for you.
If you do tablets, use plenty of water. If a pill sits in your pouch, it can make you feel like crap. If you wa**** through into your intestine, it won't bother you at all.

Awesome thank you I'm willing to try anything new. I appreciate the feedback. I will talk to my surgeon about tablets as well :)
I alternate between Citrical Calcium Citrate + D, which are just big pills, and the Calcet creamy bites, which come in yummy lemon and chocolate flavors. I get them through drugstore.com.
Thank you for your feedback! The creamy bites sound like a definite possibility for me at this stage. The ones I've tried so far have been pretty awful! I know I'm hyper sensitive to taste and smell right now which I'm sure will adjust over time. Thank you :)
Funny I was looking online and saw walmart carried it last night. Does it have a strong "vitamin" taste or after taste? Thank you :)
If this is the stuff the other poster was talking about. It has a chalky orange taste, but if you drink a little water the taste goes right away. I use it and find that if it is refrigerated the taste is not to bad at all.

I buy a liquid calcium citrate supplement from The Vitamin Shoppe. The brand is Solgar, and it comes in Blueberry and Strawberry. It's very good quality, and it's all calcium citrate, along with D3 and magnesium citrate. It tastes good, not overly sweet and not chalky. It is kind of pricey, so that may be a con for you. For me, the price is completely worth it to not have to try to swallow "petites" calcium tablets. They've gotten stuck every time I've tried to take them.
