Newbie Intro :-)

Hi All,

So this is my first post after joining this afternoon.  :)

I'm hoping to have my surgery about the 3rd week of May, the only thing I have left is my psych visit next week.  On the psych topic, are there any current threads on the topic?  I looked for a search feature but did not see one.  What should I expect and what shouldn't I say?  

Me, 46 11/12's, happily married to my best friend, 4 kids (3 boys & a girl) and one last one on the way! :)

Tell the truth.  They psychologists will generally know when you're lying.

Lol ya, I won't waste my money on a shrink just to lie...what would even be the point of going? If I go see one it would be for me,  not because a doctor is making me go so that would not even make sense ..to go and lie? ? Lol. Sorry,  though that was an odd comment

I'll say about my psych visit that,  either I've totally got my self together (ha!) Or that doc is running an approval mill (kidding). I've read a lot where people has to do extensive questionnaires, multiple visits etc. 

I was in the psych's office for maybe 20 minutes. He asked all the questions I'd expected, and I truthfully and fully answered him. I was shocked when the appointment ended so quickly. He told me he'd approve me and I didn't need to see him again unless I felt I needed post op support. 

That's what was stressing me out a bit; a very close friend of mine went and they were asking about his childhood, did he have nice clothes growing up, etc. They asked all kinds of questions for several hours.  My appt. is with the same psych group as his, which has me a bit nervous.  :)
