thank you everyone for your responses... my surgery was don't out of state so a lot of my follow ups have been over the phone, I have continued to tell them I'm still on basically a liquid diet... soup, water, protein shakes, yogurt...   they keep telling me as long as I am getting enough protein in each day not to worry?!  I'm getting sick on being blown off and I'm really worried now as I'm starting to be told a lot that I just look very sick! And I need to gain weight!    I've tried eating solid foods like beans and different chicken and lean meat and seafood... 2 bites and I feel it's stuck in my chest and I start throwing it all up...I'm freezing all the time, I'm sleeping all the time, I have no energy, I just feel something is very, very wrong and not even sure what it could be to even tell the doctor I want him to check "This!" Idk. ..

I would make an in person visit with the surgeon and wouldn't leave till he had given me a plan.

Ppl are going to tell you that you look sick...they are used to seeing you fat.so you can't really count on that. Do YOU think you look sick? Your weight is not ahywhere near  being too thin, unless you are super, super tall.

Not being able to eat meat is totally not normal.you could have a stricture or six months of liquids could have made made your body develop an aversion to solid food. Correcting any of this ,if nothing is physically wrong,is going to take some therapy.

I know this is all a total mind screw!  My kids can all pick me up,  I had my very first piggy back ride the other day from my 8 year old daughter.... I still see a fat person... I wore my very first real bathing suit this past weekend and my kids told me all they see is a skeleton! That my ribs now pop out further then my boobs!  I see a fat person!  Ugh... there is one doctor here where I am that does gastric bypass but he doesn't take my insurance. ... I wish I could find atleast a support group here...   I weighed myself this morning I'm at 126 now and I'm 5'9".. I haven't been this small since after having my first child at 21 and being diagnosed with Graves Disease ... I was so very sick, I couldn't even drive my car, I would fall asleep at the wheel... it was so bad I couldn't eat enough to keep the weight on and everyone swore I was on drugs I was so sick...I had to have my thyroid destroyed the day after I was diagnosed because it was so bad...

You need to find a doctor and stop making excuses.

Not making excuses? If there was one here in my state that took my insurance I'd be there...

She is trying to help. Don't take it as a dig. She feels you need to find someone who will help you. Laura is a very kind and helpful vet.

I've come here to strangers and poured my heart out in search of help and support, I have no reason to lie...if I have admitted to major things here and continue to be accused of something I don't do, and something so silly to even lie about...something I have no reason to lie about when I have opened up and admitted things here that are way beyond someone being a smoker....but she continues to insult me and put down my integrity. ...that's just bs, rude,  obnoxious and unecessary... we all have issues and I surely don't need her putting hers on me!! If her insults to you are her being kind and helpful... well...wow

Didn't you need to see a nutritionist and psychologist before your surgery?  My surgeons office has support groups for both before and after surgery in addition to speaking with the surgeon.  Please call your surgeons office and if you can't see the surgeon, try to get an appointment to meet with the dietician or psychologist or see if they have support groups and when they meet.  The surgeons office is your resource to get what you need.

Good luck

Sorry, I didn't see this post before. ..basically, I went to a seminar they had here one weekend at the local casino. .at the seminar they scheduled groups of about 15-20 people to come in the next month that were still interested, I went in the following month and we had basically another seminar as the doc and dietician spoke to everyone as a group. ..from there they checked our insurances and gave us all this paper work to get a referral. Our health records, have blood work and xray stuff done, and a list of physhiatrisits to choose from.. I already had my referral and records... I got in the same month for my work up and to see the shrink..  Everything went good.. WITHIN 2 Weeks MY Surgery was scheduled For The next month!  The whole process took 4 months total!  Smooth sailing....   unfortunately the doctor is in another state so basically everything since 2 months after surgery has all been done over the phone with the nurse and dietician. ..  big assembly line but the doctor has been doing bypass surgery for over 20 years and a friend of mine who had it done by him had referred me to him... great guy/doctor but unfortunately it jusy hasn't been easy with things like this just to make an appointment and just go see him...

I think a visit to a bariatric specialist and some therapy might benefit you greatly.  It's not normal to be on a liquid diet at six months post surgery.  Your issue with viewing yourself as fat might be body dysmorphic disorder.

I'm sure there is a bariatric surgeon or gastroenterologist somewhere in the state of New Mexico that takes your insurance.

I think you also need to find a Psychologist or Counselor who takes your insurance so you can work on some of the psychological issues going on.
