My journey
In 2005 I had the band, after putting up with horrid side effects like unspeakable reflux and many others, also another 4 post ops in 2008, I had it out. Initally I have lost about 38 kg which was only a few kilograms shy of my goal. Slowly over the years I hav put it all back . I have been struggling ever since til Oct 2014, when I was recommended to check out LCHF low carb high/healthy fat way of eating, I have not looked back, lost 28kg easily without any effort. I am NEVER hungry, full of energy, sleep better, no aches and pains.
Please check it out before any surgery, they are all temporary in the end. This is my first post and you may think that I am a spammer or a troll or whatever, you are entiteled to your opinion, I AM NOT, this is all true, and I just feel sorry for people who have opted to go under the knife as I did, and eventually be disappointed and back to square one. Our goverment guidelines have been wrong for the past 50 years, they are slowly changing them but of course they are not going to turn around and admit, they've given us the wrong advice. Good luck, hope you at least check it out before mutilating surgary
Glad it works for you - and I truly hope it continues for longer than your current six months and that you can keep the weight off. Most people on here do eat low carb/healthy fat and so would agree it is a sensible way to eat.
Not sure why you think all surgery is temporary! Sleeves for example are irreversible and very unlikely to stretch etc..
Personally, pre-surgery, I could always lose weight and often even keep it off - for a short while! But it is often said that 5% of people who lose large amounts of weight do keep it off. So my best wishes that you are in that number.
I am sorry for your band problems

There really is no zeal like that of a newly minted convert.
Your plan is working for you AT THIS TIME, but it does not address the reduction in volume we can eat after surgery, nor does it take into consideration the metabolic changes that take place.
