Realized I Absolutely Canno****ch Food Network
I've turned on Food Network a couple of times since surgery. Last time I did, I way overate - but I didn't connect that with my television watching. Tonight I turned it on just to have something on and after ten minutes I was desperate to eat (even though I'm certainly not hungry and it wasn't time to eat). I had some water and walked around for a bit, but it was actually pretty nerve wracking to feel that way - like I just wanted to stuff my face (and sleeve).
Definitely ly no more Food Network for me!
It's strange what we do and not do after surgery. I had complications where I was in bed for weeks after surgery and I laid there and watched The Food Network all day long. My husband thought I was nuts
Kudos to you for connecting the dots and saying "NO MORE FOOD NETWORK".

It's funny that you wrote about this experience. I had noticed I was doing the same thing and then I was watching CBS Morning news and they mentioned that a lot of people were eating and gaining weight while watching the cooking shows. Now, I haven'****ched them lately because my cable went out, but what I found that helps me is having something to do with my hands, when I watch TV in general. If I'm not cross stitching or playing on my computer, I play with silly putty. Just anything to keep my hands busy so I don't eat.
That's funny you posted this because every since surgery I have been watching diners dive-ins and drives with Guy Fieri every Friday and I just love watching all the good foods being made, jus****ching it makes me feel like I'm eating all those yummy foods, the way he enjoys the food for some strange reason I get some kind of satisfaction from it! Idk what's wrong with me, my cousin told me its nice to know that I have a great imagination lol I don't get hungry or have any kind of cravings from watching the show but I just love watching it lol!
Don't feel bad I can'****ch it either. It makes me hungry even when I am full. I can't read cookbooks either.
I can watch Chopped I enjoy watching them create things with odd ingredients.
One thing is good you realized this and know it is a trigger for you.
Chopped is what has killed me! Last night I was itching to make crazy stuff out of all my leftovers, lol!
So funny!! I am ADDICTED to the Food Network since surgery. I think I"m living vicariously through the tv....
My daughters just laugh at me...
