How do you know?
Yes, I am planning ahead since I hope and pray I am not done losing! How did you veterans know when you were done losing weight? How do we determine if it's a stall or the bottom? When were you comfortable buying "nice" clothes because you were confident you would fit in them for a while?

Hi brandito,
Post this on our Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass Surgery Forum (RNY) to reach out to others that had the RNY.
For me, I had a 9 week stall when I was about 20 pound from goal 120. It was one of the hardest times n my weight loss, but I stayed the course, worked out and once I started losing again it never stopped. When I hit 114 I kinda freaked out and my surgeons office told me to add 500 cals a wee****il the weight loss stopped and it did.
Good Luck to you

I figure I'll be done losing weight when I reach my goal, or when I stop trying.

My last 20 pounds came off REALLY slowly over many months, but -- other than an almost 9 week stall at about 9 months out -- the scale would still go down at least a little each week, even if only half a pound. When I hit 2 years out and had not lost any weight at all in 3+ months, though, I knew I was really done losing (unless I did something drastic to try to force my body lower).
I would have liked to have lost another 5 to 10 pounds, but I did make it to my goal, and I was not willing to starve myself or become a gym rat to try to force those extra couple of pounds to come off.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
