Severe Pain in stomach and penetrating into my back since Gastric Bypass 7 yrs ago

I had a Gastrogastric Fistula. It just about killed me and there are a few on here who know what I went through. It's when the blind stomach reattaches itself to the pouch and creates a hole. The bile backs up from the liver/gallbladder up through the blind stomach, through the hole in the pouch and up your esophugus. I aspirated on it more times than I can count and when you are wearing an apnea mask it hits you hard when your sleeping. Feels like a massive heart attack. The are some surgeons who will adopt a patient. It's not really surgeon error, but it does happen. It can be fixed. I had a gastrectomy and it fixed it. I also had a distal revision done which I am so grateful for. Tell him to order you Carafate and chug it. Tell him the distant issue and see if he can refer you to a revision surgeon. I would only allow someone experienced with revisions to operate.

I had projectile bile several times a day and couldn't sleep laying down. I felt like someone was stabbing me in the sternum and was nauseated and felt terrible. I also started to gain weight rapidly for no reason. My surgeon went down and looked and found the fistula. You need a revision surgeon who knows what he is looking for and understands how to fix it. We don't need our blind stomach so they remove it and repair the pouch.

You inhale bile. You have to try and cough it out without inhaling more. It feels like a heart attack.
