Severe Pain in stomach and penetrating into my back since Gastric Bypass 7 yrs ago
So I woke up this morning at 3am with severe pain in the middle of my abdominal and the pain went straight into my back ,the same thing happen in early December 2014 I was at work and was sent to the hospital by ambulance to make a very long story short the hospital I was tKin to did a CT scan and I wS told I had a Twisted bowel and that I needed to see the doctor who did my surgery which I did he said it wasn't a twisted bowel but that my bowel had falling thru a Hernia so January 13,2015 he did a fourth surgery on me well I don't think that's my problem because I've been in severe pain this morning I find of thought it was trapped gas but now I'm not sure,Has anyone else experience anything like this ? My bowels are moving good I feel alittle queasy in my stomach.
Can you tell us a little more about these other surgeries? It's hard to know what to say without a little more information.

Ly 7,2008 I had the bypass that's not reversible Ruin Y(I know I missed spelled it)
11days later a bowel blockage then 4months later a bypass revision and this pass January supposably My bowels fell thru a hernia (my doctor had fixd this hernia when I had the revision buy it came back in the same place,I've lost close to 200 pounds but multiple complications In 7 yrs I've been hospitalized 30 times .The doctor said I'm an unusual case
I was told in December by another hospital that The CT scan showed a twisted bowel but when I saw Dr Christopher Joyce he said it was a hernia and my bowels fell thru it so he repaired the hernia but I'm still having complications ,I had a water blister on my incision the busted open I had a hole almost the size of a dime he's Coterized it twice and removed some stitches that didn't desolve ,the hole is closing slowly but the smelly drainage hasn't let up and he keeps telling me it's not infected because this is what I ask at every visit

I think you need a new doctor.
I am sorry you are going through all of this.

I am almost 6 years out from RNY, having a lot of the same issues, along with HORRIBLE reflux. I've aspirated into my lungs SEVERAL times. Left upper quadrant pain, that can come and go. I now live 400 miles from my original surgeon, and haven't been able to find a surgeon in the Dallas area that is willing to take on someone else's patient/problem. My primary sent me for a CT last week which shows a possible gastro-gastric fistula. My husband drove me ALL THE WAY back to my original surgeon yesterday, and honestly he just pretty much berated me for not coming back to see him before now.....said he needs to scope me to see what is going on, but FIRST he needs to get the insurance approved, then I have to come BACK on a Wednesday, because that is the only day he scopes. He looked at the CT and said he sees a possible Mesenteric Swirl, which I think basically is a twisted bowel. I feel like he just really doesn't care. I am TERRIFIED. My stomach, and esophagus feels on FIRE, MOST of the time now. When I eat or drink, I bloat. Just pretty miserable, overall. I had my surgery in April of 2009, then in November of 2009 I was diagnosed with Kidney Cancer....had a partial nephrectomy, and THANKFULLY am now cancer free. I also had ANOTHER surgery to remove a large benign tumor from my parathyroid in 2010. I just needed to vent, as I feel like, given all the cir****tances, my surgeon should be a little more concerned. If the radiologist is right, and I have the fistula, it is generally caused by a leak, which causes the hole to create a connection to the remnant stomach....so, possibly he may have some ownership in. I'm not perfect. I have stayed on point for the most point, but I can't say I've never eaten anything I shouldn't, but nothing that should warrant this experience. Thank you for listening to me rant.
