6 day stall
on 3/25/15 11:07 pm - WI
6 days is not really a stall. A stall usually when you don't lose for a month or more. It is normal to go a week without losing weight. We lose weight in a stair step fashion. Just keep working your program and the weight will come off. Stay off the scale if the numbers bother you.
The scale can drive you crazy!, sometimes you have to put it away. I know I lose in a stair step pattern. Stick with your drs plan & the weight will come off, besides you might be losing in inches, not everything will be reflected in the scale.

It will happen. And again. That's how weight loss goes for most people. A stall is usually what we call it when we go a month or two without loss.
Highest 290, Banded - 248 Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.
Happily banded since May 2006. Regain of 28lbs 2013-14. ALL GONE!
But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,
Six days is not a stall. It is just six days where you didn't lose any weight. There are probably going to be several times throughout your journey where you don't lose anything in a week (and you haven't even gone a full week yet)!
Patience, grasshopper...

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
Stay off the scale. It will make you crazy. The scale doesn't take into consideration water retention, hormonal changes, constipation, etc., etc. At the most, weigh once a week, preferably every other week. You won't lose weight every single week. Think ahead long term and not daily or weekly of losing weight.
As long as you make food choices from your surgeon's recommendation, avoid carbs-especially simple ones, don't graze and exercise, you'll get the results of having WLS. You don't need the scale to tell you how you're doing. Pay attention to your body and how your clothes are fitting. That is a true indicator.
Has anyone else experienced stalls? Here's a search of all the bazillion posts regarding stalls LOL but true. Stalls are part of the process.

Check out my jagged weight loss line from surgery to goal. As my surgeon told me, "Our bodies aren't machines". It's not linear. Just keep your behavior in check and know that if you follow your plan, your body will take care of the rest. As soon as you can get to the point where you can see trends instead of absolutes, things will get much easier for you. Also, notice from my graph how things really began to slow down for me around December. This happens to everyone. Be ready for it.
