Big Medicine with the father and son doctors had their nutrionist on the show and from what it looked  like they all went through their own insurance to get it covered, this show looks like TLC pays for everything because some even move to Houston to get the surgery done and after surgery they get skin removal for the "where are they now" episode, Big Medicine there were several people who got denied for it.

I have noticed lately they have been showing a lot of the people going to counseling... never saw that in previous seasons, it is a good start.

Dr. Nowzarden is just a fantastic person who takes on patients that other surgeons would not touch.  He really does change lives.

What I learned from the show is how easy it is to back to overeating.  When I had surgery I thought it was impossible to eat large amounts of food again.  These patients show how easy it is to out eat their surgery.

I knew several patients who did burst their new stitches open.

From watching My 600 Pound Life, I see that does not always happen.

Dr. Nowzarden is a general surgeon for more than 40 years so qualified to do all of the removal surgeries as well as gastric bypass.  It is obvious that the show finances the surgeries, which is a minor investment for them.  I have seen a nutritionist meet with one of the patients and several episodes with therapy.

Thank you for your input.  He honestly seems to care.  I am still amazed he takes on the usual vascular and plastics procedures.
