I will keep it short. I'm 10 days post op for RNY and I was just starting to feel normal and then I weigh myself the last couple days, not only did I not lose but I gained. I'm drinking nothing bu****er and protein I'm eating no more than 2tbsp a food per meal like my Dr said. I'm taking my vitamins and walking as much as I can. I've heard of a plateau at 3 weeks but 10 days?! What did i do to myself??

Your body has a lot to adjust to right now as it heals from major surgery. Keep doing what you're doing, be patient, and stay off the scale for a few days if need be.

Every body is different!

I went into a plateau after 7 days post-op and it lasted 3 1/2 weeks... it happens. stick with it. One of the ladies in my support group who has lost 160lbs and kept it off for 8 years, said she gained 10lbs in one of her first appointments at the Dr's... and cried... Do what you are supposed to do and it will work.

Right there with ya, I dropped 28lbs from pre op diet until 9 days after surgery. That was a week ago and I've stayed where I am now. I'm attributing it to adding in the protein and yogurt ect and my body doing some catching up and sligh****er retention after nothing but clear liquids for week after surgery. I'm sure after not long things will fire back up for us!

I think it's too early to tell. I'm 8 weeks out. When I came home from the hospital on day 3, I had gained 14 pounds in water weight! It took me about 7-10 days to shed it all. And then the real weight loss began!

So have patience, follow the plan and it will work!

I am 6 months out and I have plateaued for the last 2 months with 3 pound gain.  I had lost 92 pounds but down to 89 now.  I'm exercising every day but not losing anything and my tummy is really swollen.  Should I call the doctor?  I already had to do all the scans and barium is not pleasant.  I hate water so that may be my problem.  Drinking 1 diet soda a day now.

By definition, a plateau is when you have gone at least four weeks without losing either pounds or inches. You have not plateaued.
