If I want to gnaw on something, it had better be on a bone.

I would consider pickles to be vegetables because they are cucumbers but with a high sodium content.  If that isn't a problem for you, then all is good I would think.

Many fall low on sodium (like me) cauding dangeous dips in blood pressure.  After my DS, I use salt pretty liberally now and haven't fainted since.

I wonder if that is why i've been so dizzy and light headed. Some days are so bad! When I go to the Dr they say it's anywhere between 120-100 over 80-60.

I added more bacon and it seems to be working but its still not something I eat daily. I would but it's getting expensive. I will add more pickles as well.

Just add a little more salt on everything.  I've developed a love for Kosher salt myself, and even started making my own season salts.

Wow this is great info.  I noticed my sodium was a touch low on my initial pre-surgery bloodwork.  I have been prone to dizzy and fainting spells over the past few years. My BP is usually low end of normal, nothing crazy low. Anyway I will look into it and check in with my PCP too. Thanks for posting!

I dislike meat also.  Because I chose to have the sleeve, I do eat dense proteins like chicken which I do like, some beef like lean hamburger, but also yogurts, fish, etc.  I could very easily become a vegetarian. My dream now is not of eating Ben and Jerry's Peanut Butter Fudge core, which was my favorite before the weight loss surgery, but eggplant parmesan.  It is absolutely my favorite meal.  Steak; maybe filet, but pork bhech.  Most other meats, blech. I love vegetables, well most of them.

I hope you find foods you like that will make you successful.  I have found a lot of great information on the web by WLS patients who are vegetarian and a few vegans who make it work, so it's possible.  I've also found some information from nutritionists and WLS surgeons regarding this.  All positive information I might add.  Not a popular topic on OH, but possible.   There is one member here who is vegetarian, she was before WLS and has been successful since and through maintenance since 2009 I think.  Maybe even earlier, I don't remember exactly.  Who knows, if this all works out for me and I am successful with it I will be the point person for others who want to do it also.  In the meantime, I will work it the way my doctors and I see fit.

If I had to label myself, I guess I'd be a lacto carnivore. The last green thing I ate was some old and iffy looking cheese. Vegetables? I'm not really sure what those are. Most WLSers discover that fruits don't fit very well into our new lifestyle. Not in nearly the quantities that are usually recommended by "experts" at least.

I never recommend this way of eating to others. I have no agenda to encourage. No proselyzing here. But it works very well for me, and fits this lifestyle really well.

Surely, Grim, that should be a lacto-OVO carnivore? Don't you like eggs with your bacon, ham, and sausage? (*grin*)

Nope. Never liked eggs. Not unless you put them in a cake or cookies.
