Cheeses: calories, protein, and carb information
I follow my plan and eat to get my protein via meat. Works for me. Post-op food receives very little interest on my part. I count my protein and carbs and stop eating once I reach my daily goals.
Good for you! I see you've almost made your goal. Good job. I'm pre-op and found it to be interesting. I thought cheese was an acceptable food given that has a lot of protein. Perhaps it should have gone on the diet and nutrition forum? I'm still learning my way around here and what is acceptable and what is not.

If someone needs to know the calorie value of a particular kind of cheese, they're likely to google it themselves, or find the info as they're already tracking their own food.
If it's a more general topic that is asked frequently and applicable to most posters, then it may be helpful. But more often than not, posters would rather seek out this information ("what are some sugar-free water flavors I can try?") than see it posted on its own. Just my observation though.

Yeah, the blog feature is really helpful for that.
If you're not sure if something would "fit" in a particular area of the forum, try flipping back through the 10 most recent pages just to eyeball the post topics. That's usually enough to give you a good idea.

I find that a lot of the same things are asked repeatedly and that the scope can be narrow. Not that the information isn't valid, there's lots of good stuff to learn and many people have been welcoming to me, only a few have been snarky. I will have to find alternatives for answers to my particular questions. Luckily I am finding a whole lot of good stuff and storing it in the blog section here for reference.

Oh my gosh, YES to the blogging idea - I think it would be a great outlet for you! I see the forum conversations as exactly that - conversations. Questions, answers, facts, opinions, experiences. A blog post would be an appropriate place to share what you are learning with others who are interested in reading it. Great idea.

I like conversations. I don't mind if people disagree, and agree to disagree, and be civil, but I hate being attacked. One poster in particular likes to hound me for my decisions.

I like conversations too. And having been around here for 9+ years I've read and participated in a million of 'em.
What many find (irritating? tiresome? clogging up the flow of conversations?) is when people randomly post charts or full-text studies or simply things they've found on the web that they copy & paste with no relevance to a conversation. Those things are best posted to a blog where you can collect and store information and reflect on it personally and others can choose to stop and read if they too are interested.
Make sense?
