Nissen fundo to rny
Has anyone had a nissen fundo in the past and are now looking at getting RNY done? I have been approved, met with the surgeon today, but in 2014 I had a nissen fundoplication done for acid reflux which has not been effective. I understand there is more risk, but I would like to hear from some who has had it done and what the results were. Recovery time? Any complications, or other issues?
Any help or advise would be welcome
thanks.
I had a Nissen about 9 years ago that worked really well and I'm about to have my WLS next month and wondered the same thing. My doc didn't indicate there would be any complications due to my Nissen at my consult. However, I too wondered because I remember distinctively my Nissen surgeon asking if I planned on getting a gastric bypass done because a Nissen would be counter-productive.
Anyway... I obviously don't have an answer for you but at least wanted to say I'm in the same boat and wanted to know too and give your thread a bump! :)
