If you have something to say to or about someone unblock them - don't read around the block and then berate them!

Is that what is happening? That is sneaky and cowardly.

Yes, it's very bad etiquette and says more about this poster than it does about the one about whom she is complaining.

Very bad form (as we would say if we were posh

My doc recommends not drinking your calories, as others have said. He also said nothing is really a no-no, but to eat clean, healthy foods including butter, not margarine, and real sugar in small amounts, not substitutes, nothing processed.  Even breads in small amounts, but I simply do not do breads. I find this great advice as it trains me to eat a healthier diet as a lifelong behavior.  I do eat my dense protein first and I eat delicious, fresh veggies and fruit. I just saw my primary care doc last week and she says she now considers me a healthy person, no longer diabetic, no HBP, no GERD. And I'm happy. I still have more to lose, but I look forward to it and to life after weightloss.

Garth Davis was not my doctor, but I have been to some of his support meetings, which he usually attends. I think he, like my wonderful doc, promotes a healthy LIFE. And yes, despite that ignorant, belligerent bully and her old school thought processes, Dr. Garth is still a pretty big deal!  Ignore her and block her. She's a prison guard.  Enough said.

You may not agree with what Chili says or her tone -- but she is a long time vet who has been successful.  Her delivery is from the hip and comes from a place of wanting other people to succeed.  The facts are that 99.9999999% of bariatric programs encourage dense proteins (which by nature, are mostly MEATS) -- and despite Davis being famous for being on Big Medicine -- long term stats for vegan bariatric patients are pretty non-existant.  However, long term success of patients eating a protein forward diet are pretty clear.

In fact, if you go to Davis' Bariatric site Davis Clinic Site- faqs -- you will see that even his clinic recommends "Tuna, chicken, turkey, other grilled fishes such as salmon or halibut, tofu, low-fat cheese and cottage cheese are just some of the protein-rich foods you should enjoy." -- So, it would appear that veganism is pretty absent there, too.

Look, we are all entitled to eat what we want after surgery.  However, life after post-op is difficult enough without imposing new eating rules that go against what 99% of bariatric programs recommend.  Moreover, it is NOT being a bully to tell someone *****fuses to acknowledge that post-op eating is best accomplished eating dense protein.  Moreover, calling someone a "bully" or a "prison guard" while actively blocking them, so that they are unable to defend themselves is akin to making fun of someone while their back is turned.

Not nice.

Ignorant?  Belligerent?  Bully?  Prison guard?

Name calling isn't necessary, especially about those you claim to have blocked.

Dr. Garth is not a big deal.  He was on TV.  That's all.  Not necessary to display hero worship for TV personalities.  Since he hasn't posted any statistical data on WLS patients who survive on a vegan/vegetarian diet, I believe his current advocacy is monetarily based.

I'm not calling anyone names, just stating my opinion. No need to attack because my opinion is different from yours. I believe Davis is a smart man, dedicated to the success of his patients.  Is he a bit egotistical? Perhaps, but I still think he offers a viable, alternative way to be successful. I could care less about anyone being on TV.

I found a link on Quackwatch.com regarding Physicans Committee for Responsible Medicine, to which Dr. Garth Davis belongs.

The information about this organization is quite shocking.

"The AMA finds the recommendations of PCRM irresponsible and potentially dangerous to the health and welfare of Americans. The AMA charges that PCRM is "blatantly misleading Americans on a health matter and concealing its true purpose as an animal 'rights' organization."

I bought a T-shirt for my brother with the picture of a 6 point buck on it and written underneath it was the phrase - There's a place for all God's creatures right next to the mashed potatoes and gravy.  He's a hunter.  He liked it, therefore it was a good gift.  He loves a good steak.
