Good luck on your WLS journey. I took my tablet because my hospital had wifi, so a mobile device will come in handy.  I was much more comfortable in my own pajamas instead of the hospital gowns so this may be something you want to consider.  If you choose to take your own PJs, it should be a gown instead of pants so that yours doctors have easy access to your incisions to check them. My doctor recommended hard soled shoes because you'll need to walk shortly after your procedure.

Bring soft, mushy lip balm.  It was the only thing I needed most while in the hospital.  Because you're not drinking, your lips become dry very quickly.

Good luck on your surgery!

I had surgery on the 12th. All I needed was chap stick, my ipad ( that I used maybe a total of 15 minutes), and what I should have packed extra more underwear. Every cough, sneeze, vomit, you pee yourself a bit. Other then that I could not care what was going on around me. I barely ate, just took my water. Threw up my pain meds, but here it is the 17th and I am doing normally mom chores: laundry, dishes, cooking dinner ( but, omg! Gagging! The smell), and vacuuming. The thing many don't tell you is you get a bloodhounds nose after surgery. I went to costco yesterday, and gagged the whole time. The mix if tires and roasted chicken and bakery, that you can smell in the far end of the warehouse, was too much for me

Everyone brinfs more crap than they need. You don't really NEED to bring anything. Just wear loose comfy clothes.

Good luck, and check in when you're done.
