6 month supervised diet calorie intake problems
I can totally relate to this; I am also pre-op. Are you eating protein first? This helps me get full and stay full - and is the way we will be eating for the rest off our lives. I've also started avoiding water 30 minutes before and 30 minutes after eating. (This is super hard for me!). Avoiding water after I eat also helps me stay full longer. Take a look at the threads for "what are you eating today" for protein first snack ideas. Again these are habits we need to build for the future, anyway and I have found they help. As other posters have mentioned, I have found that simple carbs (starchy ones) make me more hungry and not less; I turn into a bottomless pit of food. I just eat as little of them as possible and only after protein and veggie.
I still get pretty hungry but these habits have helped. Hope there is something here that may be of some help to you too! Hang in there.

I have been practicing longer, that's all. I am hardly an authority! But you will find the things that work for you. You can do this.

It may be that being vegan (I assume you went that route after your earlier posts) you are not eating enough dense protein. This is much more filling than high carb foods.

Not vegan yet, mostly vegetarian. Occasionally meat with a meal but not everyday. But yes, lots of carbs - mostly fruits and veggies and smaller amounts of whole grains.

Fruit tastes nice but can be high cal and isn't all that filling. Veggies are often lower cal but the effect on hunger is not long-lasting. I am not vegetarian but I often eat meat-free meals and I do find that meat has the longest lasting effect on my hunger. Obviously you must live according to your principles but if you are, as you say, still eating meat some days, you might find it easier to keep to a lower cal lower carb diet.
there are some vegetarians who post on here so maybe they will chime in to help you,

It's hard, absolutely. But it's living the high life compared to the 600-800 calories you'll be getting after surgery.

Some of us still feel hungry.... If not right away, then a few months post op.
I get very hungry if i eat carbs.....and my pouch gets less sensitive to volume of food. So not only i want to eat a lot - i can eat a lot.

Do you know the reason/science behind carbs desensitizing your pouch? I've not heard of that before. I"m considering VSG. I know the nerves get cut with that operation and it takes a while for them to feel again.
