revision surgery
hello,
I had my surgery in 2006, the roux en y. I got soen to about 160, and I was happy with that. now, I'm 190, and gaining and I cant get the weight off. I have kept my diet pretty much the same. I eat pretty well, I really have no choice since I developed b12 deficncy and pernicious anemia due to the bypass surgery. I am so afraid of gaining back all of my weight. I believe my pouch ahs stretched out and I am needing this corrected. please point me in the right direction so I can have this done.
I cant help with the revision side, sure someone will come on here to make suggestions.
in the meanwhile, my suggestion is you start counting and measuring. You say you are still eating as you were. But with the bypass, the malabsorptive element decreases over time and so you need to eat not the same but less if you want to lose weight.
Highest 290, Banded - 248 Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.
Happily banded since May 2006. Regain of 28lbs 2013-14. ALL GONE!
But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,
You can get your surgeon to check the size of the pouch and stoma to see if there are any problems. I also suggest you weigh or measure your portions and track every bite. We often over-estimate portion size.

Contact your surgeon that did your RNY to discuss a possible revision. Cross-post this on the Revision message board so even more members will be able to reply to you.
