Am I eating too much? Or too long?

I am five weeks out from my vsg and I can eat 5-6 ounces in a sitting. It might take me an hour to finish but that's about my limit. Should I be taking an hour to eat? Is 5/6 ounces too much when done three times a day? I'm hitting my protein and water goals, keeping my carbs under 30 grams.

I'm a week ahead - I was advised at 30mins it goes away. I've not gotten that far yet - I'm usually done before that. I was advised any longer than 30mins = grazing.

im not sure on the 5oz. According to my NUT (and I'm just not sure I'm happy about her advice with protein etc) she wants me to eat 1/4c only, not the more like 1/2c I had been (which is about 4-5oz depending on what's in it. So I'm kinda clueless for you on that.

FWIW: In order to avoid overeating, my surgeon's instructions, as well as the instructions from the 2 surgeons that I work for part time,  for both VSG and RNY patients are to eat for only 30 minutes and then stop.  By the time an hour has passed, some of what you ate at the beginning of the meal has already gone into the intestine.

At only 5 weeks out, eating 5-6 ounces at once seems like a lot!

To me it seems like a lot. I eat 3 ounces of dense protein and 1 ounce of a vegetable and I couldn't not eat a bite more. I measure everything and those are the guidelines my nut gave me.

Do you finish those four ounces within thirty minutes?

I eat three meals and two snacks a day. Every plan is a little different.
