I work for the State of Texas......as an employee we have only had WLS coverage for a few years.  Then they have a $13,000 cap for a lifetime!!!  I had to pay down out of pocket $8,000 to get the surgery. I had to pay 20% of all the testing before the surgery.   I am still paying off bills from it.  The Legislator decides what insurance state employees have and what it is going to cover.  They lobbied for years for us to get the WLS surgery.  If you are on Medicaid in Texas you can get the surgery for free.  I would be willing to bet ...if you watch My 600 lb life.....these surgies were paid for by Medicaid  and has an employee we have a cap???

My husband works for our county government.....his insurance changed a couple of years ago....He has to pay out of pocket $1600 before his insurance pays anything.....he just went to the doctor and it cost us a little of $500.....It also has a limit on which doctors he can see.......insurance in general is getting hard to deal with.

As a tax break on Obamacare.....you do not get a tax break as such.....they will withold some of your return if you do not have insurance coverage for the year.
