Dr. Prescribed Diet BEFORE Gastric Sleeve Surgery

Cleveland Clinic bases the pre-op plan based on the patient's starting stats and liver status.  I was discouraged when I found out that I had to do shakes for two weeks prior to surgery -- especially when a lightweight in my group just had to stay under 100 carbs and 1200 calories pre-op.  But her liver stats were better and she weighed about 70 pounds less than I did to start.  I shut up after I found that another woman in my group had 4 long weeks of the liquid diet.  UGH!  I guess my point is that there are lots of pre-op plans even within the same bariatric department.  No worries.  I am sure you surgeon has your best interest at heart.
