Lap band fill
Hi all, I'm just wondering what any lap bandsters thoughts are about fills. I got .5 cc fill yesterday and am feeling quite tight. I can drink slowly but not eat. My question is.... Do your bands feel tighter at first and then loosen up a little bit or do you get tighter after ? I've been banded for 6 years and have lost 100 lbs to reach my goal... But after a twin pregnancy I'm trying to get 35 lbs back off. Thanks for any thoughts or advice

I think people differ. The way I felt immediately after the fill was the way it stayed for me. I have read oeople saying it felt tight at first then eased. But I wonder if that may be just getting used to it, I would personally be worried if I found eating difficult. But some people are told not to eat solids for a couple of days - I was allowed to eat normally the day after the fill.
Maybe the fill was a bit too much?
Edited for lovely typos. How the heck did donuts get into the original??
Highest 290, Banded - 248 Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.
Happily banded since May 2006. Regain of 28lbs 2013-14. ALL GONE!
But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,
In my experience, my band will loosen after the first few days post-fill. I think due to swelling and irritation of my stomach with the band tightening. However, I think that if you are so tight you can't eat, you may be too tight. I wouldn't expect it to loosen that much. At best it would loosen only enough to allow you to eat mushies, and that is not healthy in my opinion. :)
Hi sheriberi29,
If you have not done so be sure and post this on our LAP-BAND Forum

Sher - like the others, my fill took effect pretty much right away --
I did usually have soup the night of my fill -- and then soft foods for a day -- just in case the 'trauma' of the fill caused any inflammation.
I think it is a good plan to give it a couple of days --- and then decide if you need to make the trip to get a little fluid out.
