I'm freaking out
Deb,
Glad you found OH. I'ts a great support forum. Once you have surgery you won't really be hungry. My surgeon told me that and I didn't really believe her. But it is true. Do your liquid diet and be tough. It's all worth it because you will be on the losers bench. I've lost 30 pounds since my surgery on 12/15/14. Some people have even done better than that. Hang in there and I'll be thinking of you.

I'm struggling a bit with weakness but I'm just starting to add in puréed foods. At this point I can go downstairs, make tea and jello, walk out to the mailbox to get the mail and then I have to go back upstairs to rest. Everyone is different though. I'd probably be ok taking a short trip in a couple weeks if I wasn't responsible for the majority of driving, arrangements etc. and if it allowed for rest/naps.
I'm five weeks out, and a trip would be no problem now. Just plan for what you need. Pre-made shakes, water, vitamins, foods, etc. I met with a trainer today, and that knocked me out, even though I've been on the treadmill a lot at the gym. Some days are great, others I can still feel weak, but overall, its much better. Good luck and have fun on your trip!
I really didn't believe it either, but now after 3 1/2 years and an over 200 pound weight loss, I am a true believer! (I just completed plastic surgery to remove excess skin, almost 45 pounds of it )
I still don't have much of an appetite and can only eat small amounts. I always eat protein first, in case I don't want anything else.
You will get rules for eating , if you have not already gotten them. It is important to follow them. You actually may find that things that you really loved before surgery, don't do it for you anymore. I was a chocohalic, now one piece and I am done. This concept was so far fetched before surgery.
Again good luck. Feel free to contact me for more information.
