I had WLS surgery on 2/16/2015. I'm concerned that I have not had a bowel movement now for over the last 7+ days. I'm still on the liquid stage but will be beginning Stage 3 on Monday. Is this normal? Should I be concerned that my bowels are not working? Please advise.

I was told to take milk of magnesia if it went that long with me. It helps.

I had an issue with not going for several days and was told to use Colace once a day until it happened. once it did I didn't have to use it again.

I had the same issue.  When it finally attempted to happen.  Notice the word attempt it was awful and painful.  I called my doctors office the recommended the same liquid that I used as the bowel clean out for the night before surgery.  If possible call and ask your doctor.

I always use a stool softener. You should not leave this for so long.

it always helps people answer if you say which surgery you have had.

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,
