Hard Time with drinking 4 oz per Hour

I had my surgery 1 week ago today, and I know they say you are supposed to drink about 4 oz of fluid per hour.  I am having a hard time doing this.  I seem to be able to drink my 4 oz. much quicker than the hour, and I am not drinking fast or gulping it down, I am taking tiny sips at a time!  Is this normal or should I be worried that I am drinking too fast??

4 oz is a minimum, it's great to drink more if you're taking lots of tiny sips. Just don't go chugging gallons at a go, since you won't feel "full" with an entire stomach full of water. :)

Ohhh, a minimum...well that makes more sense!  Thank you so much for your reply, I totally thought I was going to do something damaging to myself by "over" drinking!  Lol  And no, I CAN'T chug anything at this point so that won't happen! ;)

Yeah, you should be just fine! Drinking as much as you can is a great habit to start right away, so you've got this :)

If you can drink more - DO SO.  64oz is your minimum liquid requirement.
