I MADE IT!!!!!

Well, folks! I made it through VSG surgery yesterday afternoon! It turns out I had a hernia repair too!

I am cozy here at the hospital. I've been walking a lot. They like you to walk a lap around the hospital floor, but since last night I have been walking 3 laps. A couple times I even did 4! It makes me feel so good because my body feels so compressed in the bed but I am able to stretch my body and breath deep when I am walking. My largest sources of pain are around the left side of my rib cage and also my back is sore from a previous but recent injury when I was a car accident. Again, getting up and moving has really helped alleviate the pain and pressure.

I have not vomited or even been nauseous so far. Just a little sore. What a relief!

They started me on liquids. One ounce every 15 min. So far, so good! Even the cappuccino protein shake tastes pretty good!

I am on pain meds, which make me sleepy, so I have been dozing here and there but I feel really good! Many heart is a little racy, but the doctor said that can be normal.

Anyway, I am already meeting my goals!

Goal 1: get the surgery ✅

Goal 2: wake up after surgery ✅

Goal 3: have minimal pain and nausea ✅

Goal 4: Forego any complications

Goal 5: Lose weight

Goal 6: Feel great!

I feel really positive about my choice right now! Today is the first day of the rest of my life and I can't wait!

Thanks for readin! Leave some love in the comment box!

xoxo

Congratulations!  I am 3 weeks post op.  Glad your feeling great!  My struggles were getting enough water and that was mostly it.  Its getting easier every day now that I am getting my groove on with a normal day to day life again and being back to work.  I wish you lots of success and a quick recovery!  Here's to us!  xo
