Can or should we eat
Well, I can eat it. I don't know of any reason you couldn't. It doesn't have a lot of nutritional value, though it is high in fiber. I see nothing wrong with having some for a snack from time to time.

I have it all the time. Popcorn itself is a fairly healthy snack. The biggest problem is how it's cooked, and what goes on it. Oil and toppings can add a ton of calories. You can also eat a shocking amount of it -- you'd be amazed. So measuring out a portion is the best way to go.

Ditto to everything Grim said.
Popcorn has fiber, which we often don't get enough of (which is what causes the problems with constipation), so is a great snack for us with just a bit of butter flavored salt, but having real butter or butter flavored toppings add a LOT of calories.

My plan does not allow corn kernels or popcorn for one year. Too hard to digest, we were told.
Yes, I have eaten popcorn a few times since surgery. yes you can eat a surprising amount. Don't feel like it effects my weight loss negatively.
