Journaling your progress

I was thinking about getting a journal so that I can document my progress after my surgery. Did anyone else do this? If so, what kind of things did you include?

I've been journaling at https://www.myvsg.net/ since I started this process.  I write about everything and track my food.

I started a Wordpress blog before my surgery, to keep family and friends informed, but I have to admit that I haven't been really good about updating it.  I kept track of all my different steps before surgery, and since I've updated it about once a month with how I'm doing, and my progress, and so on.

You can also use your OH Blog to document your journey.  You can write updates as blog posts and upload photos.  You can make it private or share it with anyone checking out your blog.

One suggestion is to take photos of yourself once a month.  So you remember, make it a certain date of the month.  Wear the same clothes and stand in the same place so the differences in your body show up each month.  You'll be glad that you did.

I know you're an OH employee... but the OH blogging system is very clunky and not at all user friendly to use.  Plus there's no easy way to browse blogs, which means few people will see it.  And, as far as I can tell, there's no way to add an OH blog to any of the blog readers (rss readers) that are out there.  It's definitely not a great blogging platform and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who wanted to get into blogging.

Hi Gwen,

You've made good points.  The OH Profile/Blog isn't a stand alone blogging system. It can be a helpful option for a member already on OH to have one place to document their journey.

Thanks, Cathy

I wish I would've listened to all the suggestions that said to take pictures before and during my weight loss.  I just don't have many pre photos to compare myself to now.

I have been www.thelifeofdebbie.com

While it's nice to keep family overseas, I'm quite liking it just to get things off my chest, so to speak.
