I just talked with this Man that said he lost 30 lbs in 1 week (yes He said 1 week) from having this Illness called Pancreatitis. No Wls. Is this possible? Seriously I have been sick many times and could never imagine losing 30 lbs in 1 week. I know theres water weight but I still cannot comphrehend 30 lbs in 7 days. Maybe 15 lbs or if to stretch it maybe 20 lbs at the most , but 30 lbs?!....I don't know the man but I cant believe this.. Has anyone ever has this happen to them for this same Illness?

Yep.  I know two people who have suffered from this devastating disease. I don't think they lost that much in a week, but they weren't overweight to begin with.  WebMD had this to say: The symptoms of chronic pancreatitis are similar to those of acute pancreatitis. Patients frequently feel constant pain in the upper abdomen that radiates to the back. In some patients, the pain may be disabling. Other symptoms are weight loss caused by poor absorption (malabsorption) of food. This malabsorption happens because the gland is not releasing enough enzymes to break down food. Also, diabetes may develop if the insulin-producing cells of the pancreas are damaged.

I had acute pancretitis once and was in the hospital on IV for a least a week. I lost 17lbs in a week, so 30 is possible if you were particularly retaining a lot of water etc...

Pancreatitis is a rather serious condition that can result in organ failure and even death. Any weight loss resulting from this and other serious illness shouldn't be seen as positive.

In all fairness, the OP didnt even suggest it was positive!

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

Yes, for someone who carries excess weight, it is possible - pancreatitis is a very nasty condition.
