Every single time you have posted this to the VSG forums, every single person has said Calcium Citrate.  The ASMBS also says Calcium Citrate.  I'm not sure why you're still confused on this.

The people who mentioned kidney stones did so in conjunction with Calcium Carbonate, as an example of one of the reasons we need Citrate.

Here's a link to the most recent ASMBS guidelines, I suggest that you read it.  -- http://asmbs.org/resources/clinical-practice-guidelines-for- the-perioperative-nutritional-metabolic-and-nonsurgical-supp ort-of-the-bariatric-surgery-patient

I'm getting nervous Gwen, I have 10 pages of instructions from my dr and coordinator and it's confusing. I might ask a question 20 times til  I get  it what's your problem.

My concern is that you seem to be rushing into this surgery and woefully ill prepared.

Ultimately this is your problem, not mine, but even after you've lashed out and called people here "fat asses" I'd still like you to succeed with this awesome surgery you're getting.

We all take the same type, calcium citrate, Some may need more or less depending on labs and surgery type. So if you take the calcium citrate like you are supposed to you won't be as prone to kidney stones. Take calcium citrate and you will be fine. You can get kidney stones for other reasons so don't think that this will keep them away.

Calcium citrate! Chews or in liquid form for post op. I'm 10days away and they pump you with so much info at the last minute it's hard to  remember it all,  I'm sure the day I arrive for surgery until the day I leave im going to be asking the same questions over and over again so I feel your pain! I notice a lot of people be real BOTHERED on here!! I'm like "keep calm its just questions" why are yall so bothered *flips hair* lol

If you're asking the same question over and over again, you are NOT ready for surgery.  This is SERIOUS stuff.  You HAVE to know what you are doing or you could hurt yourself.  It's not up to the vets to keep reminding you.  If you ask a question, you should write it down and REMEMBER it.

There is a search function on this site ( little magnifying glass, upper right hand in the blue bar)  There is NO QUESTION that can't be found there.  Asking the question over and over again is wasting the valuable time of the vet that took the time to answer in the first place.  If you are not taking the time to READ EVERYTHING YOU CAN and LEARN, but expecting the vets on this site to educate you daily, you are not ready for surgery.

If you keep asking the same questions over and over again it looks like either you are trying to get an answer you want to hear, or you are not paying attention to the advice given.  I assure you, the vets will get tired of answering your same, old, questions and won't BOTHER to answer you.  That would be your misfortune since those are the folks that can help you succeed on your WLS journey.
