Gallbladder removal- what am I in for?

Hey guys

im four years sleeved and my gallbladder and I have a love- hate relationship... Well, as of late, a hate-hate relationship. My bariatric doctor is a GI surgeon and I'm flying home and he is removing it on Thursday, via laparoscopy. My question is, how was your recovery? I am on my clinical rotations in vet school and I'm hoping to get back soon since this latest attack has set me back.

thanks in advance!

Sounds like that is a good question to ask your doctor.

Mine was not a big deal - had surgery on Friday, home on Saturday, back to work Monday but only about half-speed.  Felt totally back to normal by Wednesday.

Just had mine out earlier this month. Had it out at 8 am on a Thursday was home by noon. He did it with a robot through the belly button so the pain was very minimal. I was back at work on Tuesday. My only set back was coming down with a cold the next day so every sneeze and cough was a little uncomfortable and took far longer to get over than the surgery.

Mine was great! I had been in pain for so long with the gall stones that the surgery was actually just a huge relief! Less pain afterward than I had with the sleeve. I came home the same day (Thursday). Moving around the next day, on pain meds; and back to work that following Monday. I have a sit down job. More so soreness than heavy pain.

I'm curious what this pain is like, I was told at the E R that my gallbladder needs to come out also, But I don't really have any pain. This was told to me after I was diagnosed with several small Hernias too. Said he would do the removal at the same time..I Had Rny

For me, gall bladder attacks are a severe abdominal pain in the upper epi gastric area, we think I passed a stone and that was like someone sucker punched me in the stomach out of no where and I couldnt breathe. Gall bladder attacks require morphine for me they are so bad and painful. Don't wi**** on anyone.
