Need your opinion
The newest guidelines from the ASMBS say that none of us should take NSAIDs, regardless of surgery type.

NSAIDS don't cause the damage with the sleeve or DS as it does with RNY, however as with anyone, should not be abused. DS surgeons say to use common sense and caution with NSAIDS, but the guidelines are very new, erring on ths side of caution, I suppose.

Do you take NSAIDs for your arthritis? If so, you want to think long and hard before choosing the RNY. I chose the DS in part because I knew I could not function without NSAIDs. Another reason I chose the DS is because diabetes runs heavily in both sides of my family, and DS was my best shot at avoiding developing it.
A great many people with the band are not able to lose much weight simply because the band doesn't work for the majority of us. So most any other surgerry should work when you put the effort into it. The sleeve is not a good idea for those of us who have acid issues, the RNY as pointed out has a limited time of malabsorption but with the DS you have lifetime absorption of some calories and you can take some NSAIDs with caution. so I'd put my bets on the DS, just my 2 cents.
